The pupils of the Mario Martinolić Primary School in Mali Lošinj will now be able to use Chromebook laptop computers, smart boards and other devices in learning, which will help make their school days more creative in their new digital classroom.
The staff of KING ICT decided to add-on a new dimension to a teambuilding event and do a good deed. During a teambuilding event in Mali Losinj, the KING ICT employees in cooperation with school principal Olivela Franko and IT professor Zoran Lotin took part in a corporate social responsibility activity to modernly equip the school’s IT classroom.
The classroom has now been completely renovated “from floor to ceiling”, literally! The KING staff even put in new flooring, and the pupils surprised the KING staff with a fun colourful wall.
In all, 24 Lenovo 300E Chromebook laptops, a smart board, and new tables and chairs have been installed – all part of the new classroom and ready for the pupils!
“I am exceptionally pleased with the fact that our somewhat aged classroom is now shiny and new, which will certainly stimulate our pupils in their work. This is just one of a series of activities of our school to promote digitalisation of classwork, and it is extremely important, as it provides the conditions needed to develop the digital competencies of pupils. Without them, in this new digital age, our pupils would not be literate and competitive on the labour market of tomorrow. We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff of KING ICT, who donated their time and energy to make it possible for our pupils to receive a brand new and essential IT classroom, from what was previously a classroom improvised from a dressing room. It is good to do good, and I believe that this activity also gave them a feeling of satisfaction, and enriched them as people, when they saw the excited faces of the children,” said Olivela Franko, principal of the Mario Martinolić Primary School in Mali Lošinj.
KING ICT stated that corporate social responsibility is important to the company, and that doing good makes everyone feel good.
“These kinds of activities always make us happy. Our company is able to do this, and our employees, to whom we are exceptionally grateful, are highly motivated to do good deeds. This is not our first, nor will it be our last community activity. However, it is one that we are especially proud of, as it is important to invest in youth and education, particularly in the STEM fields. The looks on the children’s faces, their smiles, were of immeasurable value, proving that we hit the nail on the head with this activity,” said Sendi Radić, member of the KING ICT Management Board.
