Jure Mandalinić, head of the KING ICT Procurement and Contracting Department, held a talk on the JumpIT forum entitled “JumpIT on… Procurement roller-coaster; challenges in IT project procurement”.
Jure spoke about the role of procurement in project management and highlighted the risks and challenges he faces in project procurement. He raised the issue of the point of procurement if it is passive or reactive to projects or operations in general. He also highlighted that a procurement expert is the right-hand of the project manager, and their work needs to be based on creativity, simplicity and creating added value for the project.
“When you can achieve all three of these elements, you will have a result for the project. When you do not have all three, then you have neither procurement nor a project, instead you are just ‘playing’ procurement,” concluded Jure.
The JumpIT forum is a business conference that has been held since 2017. The Forum gathers professionals and business leaders in IT, info-communications, telecommunications and the banking and finance branches.
