Another successful KING ICT Academy is behind us

KING ICT’s free education and paid internship programme managed to, once again, draw in many students, 29 of which were selected.

The Academy was held online, through two weeks of lectures before the selection of students for the practical internship. Six students were selected for an opportunity to work in a project team, on a specific project, in an agile work environment.

The six internships went to: Ardita Šalja (BA), Kristijan Maoduš (.NET developer), Roberto Ljubas (QA), Marko Soldo (DBD), Marko Grozaj (JAVA developer) and Marko Pogačić (.NET developer). Our students were given the opportunity to show what they have learned on an internal project, and were mentored through the entire process by King specialists in various roles.

The project task was to create an app for easier organisation of gift purchasing for colleagues that are celebrating birthdays or other special occasions. The application, called King Team Gifts, is a web-based app whose main goal is to completely digitise the process of buying gifts for colleagues.

The objective was to shorten the procedure of collecting the names of those interested in participating, to make a proposal of possible gifts and to vote for the best one. King Team Gifts App also simplified the process of keeping track of collected funds.

The Academy ended with the Show Off, online event where participants were able to outline how they developed the app. The success of this year’s Academy is perhaps most evident in the fact that several of the students were offered a job contract at KING ICT.

We would like to sincerely congratulate all of this year’s students, especially our new colleagues.
